Hump Day

Whohoo it's Humpday

Yes, it's humpday today and I love it. It's a busy week. Tonight I will go to the gradution of my son at his school. It takes me quit something to be there. Special arrangment to get me in that special place with my wheelchair. But they did their very best to make sure I finally can see my kid graduate and start with a new part of his life.
And I'm so so proud of him. He came a long way these last two years.. from a heavy depression to skipping school most of the time to a graduate with fabulous positive results on his list.

So now you read this you can get a bit of an idea what the TTT challenge for tomorrow will be???
Well let's tease you all a bit more....

And the fun part is... you girls have no clue what is says over here....
giggle... and it's telling you all about the challenge tomorrow.
So the Dutch Ladies that follow us are having a big advantage to you...
But I think that you will love this as much as I do.

Have fun today and make sure to be back tomorrow.

Technique Tuesday

How to make your own flower.

Hi, Welcome back to the blog. Today I want to show you how to make your own flowers for a card or any other project.

I have to be honest and tell you that it is a long time ago that I ran into an website where this technique was shown and were I found the template.

So let's get started with this tutorial.

Things you need:

* the template and cut the petal 12 times
* scissors
* stampin ink or pencils or markers
* little spoon
* soft embossing mat
* color pencil or copic marker
* glue
* pen
* if you want you can use glimmermist

~~~~~
Cut out this template 12 times
~
Ink or color 6 petals in a color of choice and the other 6 in an other color.
~
Cut or punch two small circles and ink them as well.
~
Take the embossing mat and the spoon and the petals
~
Put the spoon over the petal like shown on the photo
~
Then push softly with both hands so the petal will fold a little into shape.
~
put a drop of glue on the paper background and take two petals and dip the ends in the gluedrop
~
Then glue them apposite to each other on the little circle
~
Do the same with the 4 other petals of the same color. And repeat that with the 6 petals of the other color.
Let the flowers dry well.
~
Add small lines on the petals with a pencil or a copic marker.
~
Take the pen and put the flower on the embossing mat and push lighly in the middle of both flowers
~
Glue both flowers onto each other with some 3d glue dots and add a pearl or something else in the middle of the flower on top.
And if you desire... spray with glimmer mist.
Here is the result of the tutorial.
I hope you like it and leave me a lovely comment on my work
Thanks
Marion
Marvelous Monday
Shopping Time with Tricia
When spring comes I always have the urge to get me some new summer outfit. And since I have an almost 19 year old DD we both have that same feeling.
And this lovely image, Tricia Shops made by Shelly, is a great example of us in and out stores looking and fitting new clothes and showing each other the outfits we like.
Tricia Shops
And only for today you can find this stamp called Tricia Shops with a
one day discount
And here is what Scrappy made with Tricia Shops. I love the fact that she is wearing the dress that is in the window of the store as well.
How creative is that?
I made this card with the stamp and used some dies from Quickutz for the shoes and the bag.
The stamp is colored with copics
and the flower is selfmade.
Be sure to check back tomorrow cause I will have a tutorial here so you can make this yourself.
Thanks for looking and leaving me a lovely comment.
WRAPPING IT UP
Good Saturday afternoon to all!  It has been a FUN week for me being DT leader at SHELLY'S IMAGES this week and I hope you have all had fun too:)
On Monday, we got to take a look at our SPOTLIGHT STAMP for the week - 4th of July Girl.
Remember she is available with the American flag or with a blank flag if you so choose.  If you want the blank flag, just add that in the comment section of your order when you go to checkout at SHELLY'S IMAGES STORE.
On Tuesday, I got to show the technique of Faux Mosaic.  I hope you enjoyed it, I think this is a VERY COOL technique and it doesn't require too many supplies or too much time, which is always a BONUS in my opinion:)
Then on Thursday, the new challenge was introduced, which is to use an element on your card in a group of 3.  We already have many AWESOME entries, so keep them coming!  The winner for the week will be announced next Thurs.  GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!
Also, I have noticed that we are nearing 100 followers on this blog.  I bet when we get to 100, we can convince Shelly to give us a FREEBIE!!  So, please go tell your friends to come join us.
Marion will be back on Monday to present you with a whole new week of FUN.  Enjoy the weekend, I'm getting ready to go to a friend's house for the USA World Cup soccer match - WOO HOO!
TERRIFICALLY THRILLING THURSDAY CHALLENGE!
Well, it's time for what you've been waiting for, our new TTT CHALLENGE - WOO HOO!!  I wanted to do something that wouldn't be too tough so that lots of you will want to join us, so I chose a challenge using the #3, which is an often used number in popculture - The "Rule" of 3, "3s" a Charm, 3 strikes and your out, etc.  So this week, your projects must have at least 1 element in 3s, for example, 3 different DPs, 3 buttons, 3 embellishments, and so on.  I think this should be a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what you create!!  You have until next Weds., June 30 at 11:59pm to enter your creation using our Linky Tool.  Good luck and most importantly, HAVE FUN!  Remember, you are not required to use one of SHELLY'S IMAGES, but we'd sure LOVE to see one:)  You should definitely visit the SHELLY'S IMAGES STORE to see all the AWESOME images there:)
For my card, I tried to show several different examples of  "3s," but for your challenge cards, you only need to use 1 set of 3.  I used 3 different kinds of paper - Bazzill textured for the base, SU smooth chocolate chip CS for the 2nd layer (that I embossed with Quickutz EF), and mulberry paper.  I also used 3 different brown papers.  I chose 3 buttons for each side of my card (some from JoAnn and some are MFT).  I colored my image from SHELLY'S IMAGES with Copics, cut with nesties and daubed with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink.  Sentiment is computer generated and cut with nesties and scissors.   The sketch I used for this card is from PAPERTAKE WEEKLY CHALLENGE.
Can you guess what our new TTTHURSDAY CHALLENGE will be?
For tomorrow's challenge, I am using a popculture reference to a number.  Are you intrigued as to what it might be?!?  Come back tomorrow to see what our new TERRIFICALLY THRILLING THURSDAY CHALLENGE will be.   Here's a hint:
Reminder - you have until 11:59pm tonight, Weds. June 23 EST to enter your creations for our MALE/FATHER'S DAY PROJECT CHALLENGE.
TECHNIQUE TUESDAY TUTORIAL
Today I have decided to share with you one of my favorite techniques, it's called faux mosaic.  For it, all you need is 2 sheets of CS, 1 sheet of DP, your trimmer, scorer, Mod Podge Glossy, ink and a dauber.  Sounds pretty simple, right?
First, I just cut and scor my CS for the base and then 2nd layer of the card.
 Next, I take my DP and tear it into many different sized pieces.  I usually keep them fairly small for a card, but if you are doing some kind of altered project, you would of course tear them according to the size of your project.
So, once you have torn all your pieces of DP, you go through an daub the edges with your ink.
Next, cover the second layer of card stock completely with Mod Podge.
Now it's time to start adding your daubed pieces of torn DP.  You'll want to overlap them and cover the CS.  You can always go over the edges of the CS because you can go back and trim off the excess after it dries.  You may have to reapply the Mod Podge during the course of covering your CS because it dries quickly.  When you have finished adding all your torn pieces of DP, go over the whole thing with a thin layer of Mod Podge to make sure all of the edges are stuck down.  This step is why it's important to use the Gloss variety of Mod Podge because it makes the finished product look nice and shiny and not flat.
After it dries, then trim the edges and mount on your card base.
Now you're ready to add your image and embellish as desired.  For my image, I chose this SHELLY'S IMAGES image called Honey Bee that you can find at SHELLY'S IMAGES STORE.
I hope you found this tutorial fun and helpful.  I LOVE this technique and think the results are SOOO COOL!  Make sure and come back tomorrow because I'm going to give you a little tease about what are TOTALLY TERRIFIC THURSDAY Challenge may be.  Until then, you have until 11:59pm on Weds. to get your project submitted for the current challenge which is a Male or Father's Day creation.
Hello Everyone and welcome to another episode of MARVELOUS MONDAY where we introduce our SPOTLIGHT image for the day which you can find for a SPECIAL PRICE at SHELLY'S IMAGES STORE.  I am Audrey and I will be your DT leader this week and we've got a GREAT week planned!!
Our FABULOUS Spotlight Image this week is 4th of July Girl.  In the store, she has an American flag in her hand and she must be added to your cart like that, but if you would like a blank flag, you may add that request in the comment section of your order when you check out.
I absolutely LOVE all SHELLY'S IMAGES, but the girl ones are my FAVORITE!  So, I am SUPER excited that I got to work with 4th of July Girl.
I made 2 projects for today's post - you can check out all the details on MY BLOG.  First, I made a card following the sketch from CUTE CARD THURSDAY.
I also decided to alter something, so I made this bag that I think would be great for a 4th of July picnic and you could put in sparklers, glow bands and glow bracelets and maybe some red, white and blue candies.
Here's our DT member Marion's creation.  I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this cool fold that she used!
Wrap it up
Wrapping up this week
So another week is gone by. For me last week was a rollercoaster of emotions.
First my son got approval on his internship on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday he heard that he had past his finals so he's a graduate now and Thursday I had to put a sleep our little cat Baloo.
And next to all that is was my week to host on this blog for Shelly's Images.
And while writing this post my country is playing soccer at the WK in Africa and just scored their first goal in this game against Japan.
It was a great week. I love all the entries that are already in the new challenge. And I apologize for not comment on all the entriesd yet, but I promise I will do in the coming days.
Tomorrow it's Father's Day and I hope that all the cards we showed you made by the DT inspired you to use one of Shelly's fabulous Images to make a card for the one you love or your Dad.
So from the bottom of my heart I thank you for all the warm words and love I received this week and the amount of respons on the challenge and everything else.
You all are a really great group of followers and I'm thankfull for your support.
Have a great weekend and warm and loving Father's Day.
Monday the blog will be hosted by the wonderfull Audrey and I can't wait to see what she's cooking now for us.
With a lot of love.
