Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Are you ready for another TUTORIAL TUESDAY
here at Shelly's Images?
Well then ... let's get started!
Well then ... let's get started!
** BOTTLE CAP MAGNETS **
These little 'gems' are great for craft show sales and they are EASY & FUN to make!!
Here's a few items you'll need:
1. Bottle Caps (You can find bottle caps in different colors & weight. Some will 'smash down' better than others!
2. Clear Epoxy Domes (1" in size)
3. Bottle Cap Images (You can find packaged 'images' for your bottle caps ... or you can punch out your own from designer paper using a 1" round punch.)
4. Strong Magnets
5. Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue (to hold magnet onto cap)
First you will want to run the bottle caps through your Cuttlebug (or what ever embossing/die cutting machine you use) to smash them down. Here I've used my Cuttlebug ... using the "A" plate, "B" plate, CAPS, "B" plate as the sandwich recipe. As you can see, you can do MULTIPLE caps at the same time.
Here is what the 'painted' side looks like once smashed ...
And here is the 'underside' once smashed...
You can adhere your images to either side ... I have some done BOTH ways.
'Painted Side' Completed
'Bottom Side' Completed
These are as EASY as 1, 2, 3 ...
1. Some cap images come in a 'sticker' form with adhesive already on the back. If you make your own, you can use tacky glue, SU crystal effects or your favorite liquid glue to adhere the image to the cap.
2. Once dry (few minutes) ... add a Clear Epoxy Dome on top of your image.
3. Flip over ... adhere magnet to the underside and VIOLA!!
Here are some of the magnets I have ready for an upcoming craft show.
