Tuesday Tutorial - Flowers, Flowers and Felt Flowers

Happy Tuesday!  Thanks so much for joining us this week for the Tuesday Tutorial at Shelly's Images!
After all the April Showers we've had, I sure hope my May Flowers start blooming soon!
Well, today with the inspiration of all the flowers and all things SPRING and WONDERFUL, I wanted to show you how to make these super cute little Felt Flowers I've been creating and using on my cards, scrapbook pages and other projects!
Ready for a felt flower garden of your own?

You'll need:
  • A Piece of felt - you can get these for 20 cents at Michaels or JoAnn
  • A circle/blossom or flower shape nestie (if you don't have nesties, you can use scissors or other diecutting shapes).
  • Bling/Button(floss) or Brads - I used my iRock on the pink one and a Button on the Orange one
  • Fabric/Craft Glue
  • Crop-a-dile or hole punch
  • IMAGINATION!!
So, cut several layers in your felt. Here I used my blossom nesties and cut three layers, each a different size.

Taking your Glue, I put a dab of glue in the center of each layer, except for the very top layer, sticking each piece together as you go.
Add your bling to the center of your flower -
and VOILA - Super CUTE, Instant Flower!
If you're using a Brad to connect layers together, PUNCH a hole in the center of your flowers. Attach brad to flower. For Buttons - add your button to the center and get our a needle and thread and sew button through all layers of the flower.
They're fast, simple and SUPER cute!!
I can't wait to see your wonderful Felt Flower Garden! =)
Hugs & Happy Days!

It's a Marvelous Monday....

With a little TROUBLE mixed in!

Today's super cute image is "T is for TROUBLE" for all you cat lovers out there.
Boy oh boy do we have some trouble makers in our house.

Here are all the super cute projects the design team created with this little troublesome cutie!
Stephanie made this little troublemaker the CENTER of attention on her card -

Darlene added a few super cute flowers to her card - if she knew my furbaby, he'd be eatin' them after he knocked over the fish bowl!  :)

Jen made this adorable card.  What a beautiful bow and the cat print cut outs are perfect.

Heather created this fabulously colored and textured Little Trouble maker

How adorable is this one from Amanda with the little 'kitty' extras?

Scrappy created this cute project.  I love the fish embellishments.

Our Guest Designer this week is Linda Bowman.  I love the way she did the water in the fishbowl.  And her sentiment is JUST perfect!.

And here's mine...if this little cutie was about 25 pounds heavier, he would be my furbaby Gizmo!

Get your case of Trouble today at the SI store for a special price, TODAY ONLY!!

Don't forget too - you still have time to join us for this weeks Terrifically Thrilling Thursday Challenge - Buttons, Brads and Bows - I know we ALL have just a FEW of those items lying around. =)

05-03-2011 TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY AT SHELLY'S IMAGES!!!!
Goodmorning to you all! As you might know I really love folded cards. So that's what I like to show to you. I hope you enjoy the tutorial.

At this photo I show you a template of how the card is made, I used a piece of cardstock 15 x 30 cm or 6 x 12 inch. You cut and score the lines as shown. If you click on the picture it will be increased

Here you can see how the card turns out after you have folded it.

After making the card, you can use your own imagination to dress it up. Cause yesterday the Pekingese was in the spotlight, I thougt it was nice to use the same papers and the same image. The advantage of digi's is, that you can adjust the size, so for this card I made it a little bit smaller.

Here you can see it from the side. I give you a little bonus, when you put a lot of designpapers on your card, it will be loaded and to avoid collapsing I put a little stroke of paper on the inside of the card, attach it to the front and the back with some glue or tape.

Well I hope you like it, I wish you all good luck trying it out!

05-02-11 MARVELOUS MONDAY

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Here in Holland we celebrated the Queen's birthday, and the weather was fab, so it was partytime in the whole country.

This Monday our Marvelous Monday Image is "PEKINGESE". I really love this little puppy, but well I love all dogs and puppy's. The Image is available at the store today for a special price, so don't wait and hop over and pick it up!

For inspiration Shelly's team made some brilliant cards

Darlene did some great colouring I love the soft tones she used, the card is so romantic because of the lovely papers and flowers.

Sammi made a wonderfull "thank you" card that will be appreciated by the recipient, look at the claws-embellishments on the left corner above and the lovely ribbon.

Heather has made us a stunning black-white-card to show you a card can be modern too, I adore the lay-out she used.

I just made a square card, the papers fit the Image perfectly I think, bones are on the background and the paper with claws on the front.

Scrappy made this wonderfull card, with such beautifull earth colours, the paper has such a nice structure, look at the dogclaws on the ribbon and the embellishments, they're WOW.

Jen made this project with lots of bling.  And I love her sentiment!  The coloring on this image is just beautiful!!!

We are so happy to have Debbie Harris joining us this week as our Guest Designer!  Debbie made this beautiful easel card.  I love the soft colors and all of the embellishments.  And the shape of  the easel card is just stunning!  Thanks so much for joining us this week Debbie.

We hope you to give you some ideas how you can use this marvelous Image. Also check the blog tomorrow, for it's Technique Tuesday, it's gonna be a special fold card.
