As always we had some truly wonderful entries for our "Oh SCRAP" challenge. Thank you so much to everyone who entered!
Our "Beary" Favorite project is Moshie from Moshie's Moments
Moshie, we loved the layout of this beautiful project.  And all of the gold and distressed edges really give a classic almost vintage feel to this beautiful project.    I will be emailing you very soon with your $6 gift voucher.  Please also be sure to grab your "Beary" Favorite badge here.

We also have two more awards to round out our Top 3 for this challenge.  These awards go to Mandy from Made by Mandy and Suze from Crafty Suze!
Mandy, we loved this cute and colorful layout.  And thought it was perfect for our "Oh SCRAP Challenge".  You truly found a way to turn the scraps into something beautiful.
Suze, not only did you use an image from Shelly's Images, but I LOVE the way you showed your scraps before you started making your project.  I also loved the little tip about using the piece of paper that already had the oval cut out for the mat for your image.  Genius!  I think all of us are frugal and try to save all of our little pieces and this is the perfect use for those.
Mandy and Suze please be sure to grab your Top 3 badge here.

Thanks again to everyone who entered our challenge.  Your creativity always inspires us.    If you didn't win today please be sure to visit www.shellysimages.com and click "Monthly Digi Giveaway" Then just enter your name and email address to enter for our December giveaway.  Be sure to enter once each month for your chance to win.  Winners of the Monthly Digi Giveaway are announced in our Newsletter and notified by email.

Our new challenge will begin very soon.  "Christmas is in the Air" at Shelly's Images and that is the theme of our new challenge.  I can't wait to see all of the amazing Christmas projects.

On the 5th Day of Christmas

Hi ladies,
Today is the 5th day of 12 Days of Christmas, and it's my turn to make something.
I have made a candybox with two digi's from Shelly.
The candy cane and the Christmas bear.

The picture below is showing you how to make the box.

For the lid I used a doily about 4 inches, fold it in half and stick half a doily on the back of the box.
Make two holes in the front of the box and the doily and tie a bow in it.
Now you can close your box.

On the third picture you can see the Santa Claus digi I have made.
I have made 5 digi's for you, and if you like them, you can download the digi's on my blog.

I hope you like the candy box and digi's, have fun with them.

Greetings,
 Marianne

On the 4th Day of Christmas

We are sharing this quick & easy Gift Card Holder with you that will be very helpful this holiday season!

By using Shelly's Images PRECOLORED "One Last Stop" digi image, you can have all your gift card holders done in no time at all!
Let's get started!

Here are the materials you will need:
  • 1 piece of card stock cut 8 1/2" x 4 7/8"
  • design paper cut to three sizes ... (1) 4 3/4" x 2 7/8" for front cover (2) 4 3/4" x 1 7/8" for inside and lower front flap
  • 1/8" Scor Tape (or red line tape)
  • Shelly's Images precolored image

Dear Santa,
I've been a very good girl this year and would really like to have one of those Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter thingies, a new sewing machine to use just for my cards . . . mine is 40+years old :( and it's tired!  OH and Copics ... I've been told I "really need them"!  And lastly I would love to have some Shelly's Images digi images to color & create with! My favorites are "Angelic", "One Last Stop (Full Color Version)", and "Feathered Friend"
Thanks Santa ... I promise to continue to be good!
(fingers crossed behind my back ... teehee)
Darlene

OKAY, now it's your turn!
The design team will read all of the fabulous letters you write and one lucky winner will be chosen by the team to win not one but THREE of Shelly's Images (that's why it's important for you to list at least 3 of your favorites in your letter).

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
You're already here ... just jump down to the comment section and tell Santa all of your crafty hopes & dreams for Christmas morning!

On the 2nd Day of Christmas....

Shelly's Images gave to meeeeee....ok, better not try to sing it.  I don't want to scare everyone away.  :)
Today we are sharing this fun Paper Christmas Stocking project idea and template.

This is my favorite Christmas project this year and I am so excited to share the template and instructions on how to make these cute stockings.

So let's get started.  You can choose to print the pattern onto the wrong side of your paper or cut out and trace your pattern onto your paper.  I actually imported the pattern using the "pixel trace" option with my Make the Cut Software.  The only piece that isn't on the pattern is the small rectangle that is used as the "hanger".  This piece of cardstock is approximately 1/2 inch by 4 inches.

The template is available for download using the links below.

1. If you are printing the template using Word just insert the template as a picture into your document.  The pattern is 8 1/2 by 11 so it will insert perfectly into the document.  Before printing make sure you have all of your margins set to 0.  If you have any trouble with the pattern just email me and I will be happy to help.
The picture below shows all of my pieces organized.  I used Bazzill Cranberry for the cuff pieces and Bazzill Ivy for the stocking pieces.  The patterned paper is printed paper from Shery K Designs.  I am also using our "Santa" for the hanging tag on my stocking.  The full color version will be in our store very soon.
2. Start by using your favorite adhesive to attach the patterned paper cuff pieces to the cardstock cuff pieces.   If you would like to add stitching to the cuff be sure to do that step now.

 3. Use adhesive to attach the toe patterned paper pieces to the stocking.
Again, if you would like to add stitching you want to complete that stitching at this point.
4.  I found that the best adhesive for attaching the two stocking pieces together was Scor-Tape.  Just run it close to the edge of one stocking and then carefully line up both sides to attach.
 5. Use score tape again to make a loop for the hanger.  Just fold so both ends meet.  Then wrap the Scor-Tape all the way around for attaching to the stocking.
6.  Attach the loop to the corner opposite the toe.
7.  I used my ATG to add adhesive to the back of one cuff piece. Attach it to the stocking base.  I like to line up the top of the cuff piece with the top of the stocking piece and then allow the cuff to extend past the edge of the stocking on both sided.
8. Now that one side is attached you will be able to line up the cuff piece on the other side of the stocking.  I like to pick up the pieces and line them up to glue them.
9. Thread a length of ribbon through the "hanger" to hold our pretty tag.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut a scalloped circle.  Use adhesive to attach the ribbon to the top of the scalloped circle.  Then add adhesive to the back of the circle Santa piece and attach it on top of the ribbon.  Now the ribbon is nicely sandwiched between the scalloped circle and the Santa circle.
 10. I made a ribbon for the corner of my stocking using my Bow Easy.  I like to attach this ribbon with hot glue.

This cute stocking is wonderful for holding little gifts like gift cards.  As shown in the picture above you can just tuck them in your tree until you hand them out on Christmas morning.  I will be using these paper stockings at each place setting on our Christmas table.

I hope you enjoyed our 2nd Day of Christmas.  The templates and tutorial are offered here free, but please be kind enough to leave us a comment if you are downloading our templates.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for the fun that Darlene has planned.  You won't want to miss your opportunity to win a fun prize.
