05-03-2011 TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY AT SHELLY'S IMAGES!!!!
Goodmorning to you all! As you might know I really love folded cards. So that's what I like to show to you. I hope you enjoy the tutorial.

At this photo I show you a template of how the card is made, I used a piece of cardstock 15 x 30 cm or 6 x 12 inch. You cut and score the lines as shown. If you click on the picture it will be increased

Here you can see how the card turns out after you have folded it.

After making the card, you can use your own imagination to dress it up. Cause yesterday the Pekingese was in the spotlight, I thougt it was nice to use the same papers and the same image. The advantage of digi's is, that you can adjust the size, so for this card I made it a little bit smaller.

Here you can see it from the side. I give you a little bonus, when you put a lot of designpapers on your card, it will be loaded and to avoid collapsing I put a little stroke of paper on the inside of the card, attach it to the front and the back with some glue or tape.

Well I hope you like it, I wish you all good luck trying it out!

05-02-11 MARVELOUS MONDAY

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Here in Holland we celebrated the Queen's birthday, and the weather was fab, so it was partytime in the whole country.

This Monday our Marvelous Monday Image is "PEKINGESE". I really love this little puppy, but well I love all dogs and puppy's. The Image is available at the store today for a special price, so don't wait and hop over and pick it up!

For inspiration Shelly's team made some brilliant cards

Darlene did some great colouring I love the soft tones she used, the card is so romantic because of the lovely papers and flowers.

Sammi made a wonderfull "thank you" card that will be appreciated by the recipient, look at the claws-embellishments on the left corner above and the lovely ribbon.

Heather has made us a stunning black-white-card to show you a card can be modern too, I adore the lay-out she used.

I just made a square card, the papers fit the Image perfectly I think, bones are on the background and the paper with claws on the front.

Scrappy made this wonderfull card, with such beautifull earth colours, the paper has such a nice structure, look at the dogclaws on the ribbon and the embellishments, they're WOW.

Jen made this project with lots of bling.  And I love her sentiment!  The coloring on this image is just beautiful!!!

We are so happy to have Debbie Harris joining us this week as our Guest Designer!  Debbie made this beautiful easel card.  I love the soft colors and all of the embellishments.  And the shape of  the easel card is just stunning!  Thanks so much for joining us this week Debbie.

We hope you to give you some ideas how you can use this marvelous Image. Also check the blog tomorrow, for it's Technique Tuesday, it's gonna be a special fold card.

4-26-11 Let's Alter A Clock For Tutorial Tuesday!

Hello, Hello, And Welcome To Tutorial Tuesday!

Today's Tutorial Is Going To Be So Much Fun! I Think You're
Going To Love it!

We're Going To Make An Altered Clock!

Ready?!

Supplies You Will Need:

An Inexpensive Clock (I used one by Mainstay, from Walmart, under $5)
Image or Images of Your Choice
Thin ChipBoard Numbers, Number Die Cuts, or Number Stickers
Your Favorite Adhesive (I used my ATG)
Foam Mounting Tape
Patterned Paper
Markers or Other Coloring Medium
Hole Punch
Circle Template

Instructions:

1. Color Your Desired Image or Images. Cut out Your Numbers, If using Stickers. (I used metallic gold foil stickers from the Paper Studio and stuck them on Brown cardstock and cut them out.)

2. Take apart your clock. Be sure Not to lose those tiny screws and the hands!

3. Cut out Your Large Circle for your Clock Face, from Patterned Paper. ( I used the glass from
the clock face and traced around it -It will be a little larger than what you need)

4. Cut Out Your Image, as well as a matting piece for it. (I used the Creative Memories Cutting
system and thier circle templates. But, again, you could trace around something the desired size and cut out with scissors).

5. Punch a Hole In the Center of Your Image.

6. Apply adhesive to the face of the clock.

Here, you see a picture of the clock face and hands, the large circle of Patterned
Paper, and my uncolored image with matting:

7. Place your large circle of patterned paper onto your clock face and press down, using your fingers to fit the paper snuggly down into the clock frame. Rub your fingers all around the paper and around the edges inside the frame. You want to be sure the paper is securely adhered to the clock face. You will notice that you have excess paper around the inside of the clock face, around the inside of the clock frame.

8. Take your exacto knife and carefully go around the inside edges of the clock frame, to remove the excess paper, and achieve a neater look.

9. Apply adhesive to the back of your colored matted image and then place it in the center of your clock, with the clock stem poking through your image. Press down to be sure it is secured.

10. Now, cut thin strips of Foam Mounting Tape to the back of your numbers, remove the paper liner, and adhere your numbers to the clock face in the proper positions.

Here, You can See My Clock Face With The Image and Numbers Atached:

11. Next, Put your clock hands back on the stem

12. Put your clock back together, and secure it using the little screws.

Ta-Da! you're Done!

And Here Is Your Finished Clock!

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial!

We'd love to hear your comments!
