TTT Challenge Winners - Use Scallops

Oooooh!  Such an exciting week here in Kansas.  I almost can't contain my excitement!  I saw the first hummingbird of the season at the feeders on Tuesday.  Are any of our other Shelly's Images friends also birdwatchers?  I really enjoy watching the birds at our feeders.  It is so relaxing.  Ok, so I got sidetracked.  Our other exciting news is our 3 winners from our "Use Scallops" challenge.  

Our "Beary" Favorite project is #43 Emily from Scrappy Sweet Creations! Emily we loved the story behind this beautiful card.  And we felt that your use of scallops was absolutely perfect for our challenge.  All of the embellishments and additions are so pretty.  Great work!

Tutorial Tuesday - Christmas album

Hi ladies,

This time I have a workshop for you.

It's a Christmas album

First you take a piece of cardstock and cut in in half.

Now we are going to work with the first piece of cardstock.

Fold it double.

And place a beautiful border on the right (open) side.

Then use tape to stick it together.

Use your scorboard for the left side and rill a line at 0,75 inches.

Now we are going to use the second piece of cardstock

Score also a line at 0.75 inches on the left side.

And use tape like the picture above.

Stick it together. 

This is what we have now.

You can use for the side grungeboard and a piece af cardstock.

Stick the two pieces together.

And make holes in it like the pictures below.

And stick it on the left side of your album.

Tie a ribbon in the holes.

Now you have an album and all you have to make are two tags in it, and pimp it.

I have to say that even though you all keep us very busy with commenting on our "Show us what you got!" Challenges, they are one of my favorite challenges.  Wow!  Such amazing projects and so much inspiration!

Somehow the DT and I were able to pick our favorite 3 entries.

Our "Beary" Favorite project is #51 Desire from Doing Life!  Desire, your project was one of our top 3 for our last challenge and again this challenge the DT loved your entry.  The reds and grays on this super cute box are a very eye catching combination. And I absolutely love altered projects.  We loved it!

Tutorial Tuesday - 3D Card - Another Version

I have had such fun looking through blogs lately at amazing tutorials.  Needless to say there is SO much inspiration out there.

My project today was inspired by a project that I saw from Crafty Kate.  I loved the 3D effect given by the layers and thought I had to give something similar a try for my "Field of Dreams" project.  I have also been getting SO MUCH inspiration from one of my favorite new blogs called Contadina K.  Vivian has tutorials that are SO much fun to watch.  The "watercolor" technique that I share with you in this video is inspired by her videos.

The following .jpg are great to use as templates.  Just insert the files into a Word document.  Be sure to adjust the size for your project.  Then print and use as a template.  Or, feel free to use your cutting machines and import the file as a pixel trace.
