TTT Challenge Winners - Out with the Old, In with the NEW!

Good morning friends!  Sorry to be running a bit behind schedule with today's post.  My daughter Taylor is still on Christmas Break so we are still on "holiday time".
I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year celebration.  I thought I would share a couple of pictures from our Christmas and New Year celebration.
The first picture is our stockings hung on Christmas Eve.  Now that our children are older they hang their stockings when they are on their way to bed.  And of course Santa can't come until everyone has hung their stocking.
The second picture is a picture of our traditional "Minutes to Midnight" cake.  It is actually a brownie that is covered in chocolate ganache.  The clock numbers and hands are piped from white chocolate and then buttercream frosting is used for the pretty finishing touches.  We generally have a very quiet celebration here at home and there is no where I would rather be than safe and sound here at home with my family.
Ok...I better get back to the task at hand here and announce the winners of our challenge.

For this challenge our "Beary" Favorite" project is Peggy from Colorful Designs.
Peggy we just loved this wonderful project.  I love how the beautiful snowflake seems to be part of the other sparkly frost that the fairy is blowing. I will be emailing you very soon with your $6 gift voucher.  Please also be sure to grab your "Beary" Favorite badge here.

We also have two more awards to round out our Top 3 for this challenge.  These awards go to Gem from Handmade by Gem and Gail from I like Paper!

Gem, the DT and I loved this pretty card in blue and you really put your new Spellbinders to great use here.

Gail, this project is truly wonderful.  I love how you used the "Fall Fence" digi and turned it into an amazing background for a winter scene.  So well done and a perfect example of how versatile digi stamps can be.

Gem and Gail, please be sure to grab your Top 3 badge here.

Thanks again to everyone who entered our challenge.  Your creativity always inspires us.    If you didn't win today please be sure to visit www.shellysimages.com and click "Monthly Digi Giveaway" Then just enter your name and email address to enter for our January giveaway.  Be sure to enter once each month for your chance to win.  And we hope you will head over to our new challenge post.  Miranda has done a great job as Design Team Leader for our first Technique/Tutorial Tuesday and TTT challenge of the new year.

Technique Tuesday

Hi everyone. First of all I want to wish you all a happy new year with lots of creativity.

Today I want to show you how you can make a quick card with just some leftover scraps. You all have those little 6x6 paperpads and when you make a card you allways have some little strips left. You don't want to throw them away but you also don't know what to do with them.

To make a card you only need some cardstock as the base of your card, some leftover pieces of scrap paper and a stamp.

I just glued the pieces of cardstock on top of each other. On top of that I put some leftover pieces of scrap paper.

Then just decorate your card with a nice border and your coloured stamp. It's just so easy to make a nice card with just some leftovers.
Have fun!

Technique Tuesday

Hi girls, it's my turn again, to share something with you. Most of the times I shared a special fold or a little project, giftbox, but not this time, I have something different. But I think it's important. Please use your stuff!!! Pimp up your card!!! I really do love Clean And Simple, but most of the time, we girls forget to use our lovely supplies, I know some of you have stuff they bought and really never ever used it. And it makes such a difference if you DO use them. To show you I have made a card with the wonderful digi Jingle Bells, this is the lay-out and how I colourd it, only using my nesties.
Nothing wrong about it, but we can do better. We can ink the edges of our fabulous designpapers, and please use them, I love layers. Use foam to lift up your image, I used foam behind my nestie and behind my image, so it has more attitude now. Use the wonderful ribbons and lace, use your dies, don't leave them behind.....
Now my card is finished, it has so much more, and if I wanna do something extra I decorate the inside too, it only takes a minute, but it gives an extra touch, don't you think?
