TTT Challenge Winners - Anything Goes - January 2013

Whew....what a busy few days.  We have been hard at work at Crafter's Digital Art Center.  I know I posted yesterday about the Grand Re-Opening, but I just have to mention again what a fun place this is for crafters.  Be sure to drop in and take a look around if you haven't already.  And we have some plans in the works for the members of our Shelly's Images group at CDAC that will tie into our challenges here at the blog.  You won't want to miss it.  So head over and become a member at CDAC and then join us in the Shelly's Images CDAC Group.

As always we had some truly wonderful entries for our "Show us what you got!" challenge. Thank you so much to everyone who entered!  You really made it hard for us to choose a favorite!!!!
Our "Beary" Favorite project is Doreen from Doreen's Dream
Doreen, this card is just so visually striking.  We loved the soft greens and greys and blues and then that vivid pop of green in the ribbon just makes you want to look at the card again and again.  I will be emailing you very soon with your $6 gift voucher.  Please also be sure to grab your "Beary" Favorite badge here.

We also have two more awards to round out our Top 3 for this challenge.  These awards go to Karal from Karal's Creative Space and Karen from Feline Creative!
Karal, another card that is so visually effective.  I love the way the scalloped circle disappears off the edge of the card.
Karen you have so many beautiful design elements here.  I love the frame that is curved on opposite corners.  And the paper punching and sewing are just incredible.  Have I mentioned lately how much I love the look of sewing on paper projects?  :)
Karal and Karen please be sure to grab your Top 3 badge here.

Tutorial Tuesday Workshop flowers

Hi ladies, today I'm going to show you how I made these flowers.
These are the two dies I have used.

Put three layers together.
I have drawn black dots on the photo, and cut the flowers trough three layers till the dots.

When you have done that, emboss a line in the middle on the backside of the flowerleafs.

Then fold the flower with the good side up.

And your splitpen goes trough the flower.

If you look at the die, there's a big difference when your flower is ready.
I hope you like the flower and the tutorial.
Greetings, Marianne

TTT Challenge Winners - Out with the Old, In with the NEW!

Good morning friends!  Sorry to be running a bit behind schedule with today's post.  My daughter Taylor is still on Christmas Break so we are still on "holiday time".
I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year celebration.  I thought I would share a couple of pictures from our Christmas and New Year celebration.
The first picture is our stockings hung on Christmas Eve.  Now that our children are older they hang their stockings when they are on their way to bed.  And of course Santa can't come until everyone has hung their stocking.
The second picture is a picture of our traditional "Minutes to Midnight" cake.  It is actually a brownie that is covered in chocolate ganache.  The clock numbers and hands are piped from white chocolate and then buttercream frosting is used for the pretty finishing touches.  We generally have a very quiet celebration here at home and there is no where I would rather be than safe and sound here at home with my family.
Ok...I better get back to the task at hand here and announce the winners of our challenge.

For this challenge our "Beary" Favorite" project is Peggy from Colorful Designs.
Peggy we just loved this wonderful project.  I love how the beautiful snowflake seems to be part of the other sparkly frost that the fairy is blowing. I will be emailing you very soon with your $6 gift voucher.  Please also be sure to grab your "Beary" Favorite badge here.

We also have two more awards to round out our Top 3 for this challenge.  These awards go to Gem from Handmade by Gem and Gail from I like Paper!

Gem, the DT and I loved this pretty card in blue and you really put your new Spellbinders to great use here.

Gail, this project is truly wonderful.  I love how you used the "Fall Fence" digi and turned it into an amazing background for a winter scene.  So well done and a perfect example of how versatile digi stamps can be.

Gem and Gail, please be sure to grab your Top 3 badge here.

Thanks again to everyone who entered our challenge.  Your creativity always inspires us.    If you didn't win today please be sure to visit www.shellysimages.com and click "Monthly Digi Giveaway" Then just enter your name and email address to enter for our January giveaway.  Be sure to enter once each month for your chance to win.  And we hope you will head over to our new challenge post.  Miranda has done a great job as Design Team Leader for our first Technique/Tutorial Tuesday and TTT challenge of the new year.

Technique Tuesday

Hi everyone. First of all I want to wish you all a happy new year with lots of creativity.

Today I want to show you how you can make a quick card with just some leftover scraps. You all have those little 6x6 paperpads and when you make a card you allways have some little strips left. You don't want to throw them away but you also don't know what to do with them.

To make a card you only need some cardstock as the base of your card, some leftover pieces of scrap paper and a stamp.

I just glued the pieces of cardstock on top of each other. On top of that I put some leftover pieces of scrap paper.

Then just decorate your card with a nice border and your coloured stamp. It's just so easy to make a nice card with just some leftovers.
Have fun!
